Grenadilla Wood comes to Cowes
On May 19, the Phillip Island Jazz Club presents Graeme Pender and Grenadilla Wood at the Bowling Club in Cowes.

The Phillip Island Jazz Club presents Graeme Pender and Grenadilla Wood on Sunday, May 19 at the Phillip Island Bowling Club in Cowes.

The band name Grenadilla Wood comes from the Grenadilla Wood (Dalbergia Melanoxylon) from Mozambique. This type of wood has been used since the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century and is quite possibly the most popular wood used in the making of clarinets.

At the time of print the lineup of performers in Grenadilla Wood is Graeme Pender on clarinet, Frank Carter on trombone, Tony Orr on banjo, Peter on tuba, Cal Duffy on drums and the very young talented Aston Vaz on piano.

We all remember Aston and it will be great to see him performing once again.

This month's gig is proudly supported by Ramada Resort Phillip Island.

Grenadilla Wood is performing at Phillip Island Bowling Club, 40 Dunsmore Road in Cowes. Tickets are $20 for Jazz Club members and $25 for visitors.
