Growing Cambodia trivia night returns

The annual Growing Cambodia trivia night fundraiser will be held this year at Berninneit on October 12, from 6.30pm until 10pm.

The night promises to be another entertaining one with more trivia questions and games for teams to navigate, as well as a silent auction and raffle. This year will also have live music to sing and dance to courtesy of the world-famous Laing Brothers

All funds raised on the night will go to the Growing Cambodia charity, which has been running for 12 years, thanks to ongoing support from the island community.

Growing Cambodia's mission is to offer rural Cambodians an opportunity to improve their quality of life through education and health and well-being support.

Over eight hundred students are attending free English lessons at schools in four rural villages.

Lessons are conducted by local Cambodian teachers with help from volunteers. Students leaving the schools are also offered university sponsorships.

Growing Cambodia also provides scholarships for students to attend public school at each of the four villages if their families are unable to afford the mandatory uniforms to attend.

Last year's event at the Phillip Island Adventure Resort raised over $29,000 and organisers are hoping to pass that total with this year's event.
