Grossard Court resident Dorothy Mullen was delighted to receive birthday greetings from none other than Queen Elizabeth on her 100th birthday on March 8.

Dorothy is a resident at Grossard Court in Cowes and celebrated her very special day with family and friends at a party that marked the magic number.

Dorothy was born in 1922 in Ballarat, and after her marriage to her beloved husband Harry, moved to Balwyn where the couple raised two sons Tim and Bruce.

A trained nurse, she worked during this time at the Fairfield Infectious Disease Hospital in Melbourne.

Dorothy moved to Mitcham to be closer to family after the passing of Harry, to whom she was very happily married for over fifty years.

She later moved with her son Tim to Phillip Island in 2018, with Dorothy moving in to care at Grossard Court last year.

Dorothy says the key to a long life is to be happy and positive.

And she is certainly an example of that, according to staff at Grossard Court, who describe her as one of the happiest and positive people they know.

Many happy returns Dorothy, from your community on Phillip Island.
