Phillip Island Jazz Club presents Deep South Brass 8 at the Phillip Island Bowling Club on April 19 from 2pm.
"We are pleased to have the return of Deep South Brass 8 who were a great hit with the audience when they appeared last September," said a club spokesperson.
"They are a high energy, New Orleans influenced band and play a mix of jazz/funk/blues originals and popular covers."
Inspired by the contemporary brass bands of New Orleans, the band plays an infectious mix of originals and popular charts.
"With nods to The Big Easy's luminaries of Trombone Shorty, Jon Cleary, Dr John, and the Rebirth Brass Band, Deep South Brass 8's big bold brass also brings a few surprise interpretations of some old favourites."
This year's line-up features: Neil Gracey trumpet/trombone/band leader; Matt Dixon trombone/vocals; Mark Sylvio trumpet/vocals; Sean Nihill trumpet/composer; Justin Abicare alto sax/flute; Joel Plymin tenor and baritone sax; Fionn O'Sullivan keyboards, Roy John drums and Steve Temple on bass/tuba.
"You will need to think about booking for this great group as they were outstanding last year," the spokesperson said.
"We are expecting large numbers on the 19th so if possible, could you book and pay early to give us an indication of how many seats we need to have ready."
The Jazz Club's Annual General Meeting will also be on April 19, commencing at midday prior to the group's performance,
"Everyone is welcome to come to support the work that the committee has done over many years."
