Personal Care Worker Karen McBride enjoys a moment of joy with resident Pat Argent at Griffiths Point Lodge, San Remo.
Living at Bass Coast Health's (BCH) residential aged care centre, Griffiths Point Lodge at San Remo, run by Bass Coast Health (BCH) has recently received a $1 million make over.
Renovations included new floors and nurse call bell system, painting of walls and some new bathrooms.
The low-care facility is uniquely located on the clifftops, and offers beautiful views of the sea and Phillip Island.
GPL is accredited against the Aged Care Quality Standards by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.
All staff are skilled and focused on the care of each resident. The team is led by the Nurse Unit Manager and includes nursing staff, personal care workers, diversional therapists, and cleaning and catering staff.
These staff form close bonds with residents' families to ensure they are kept informed every step of the way, said BCH CEO Jan Child.
"All staff acknowledge the uniqueness of our residents and that residents' self-esteem, privacy and freedom of choice are valued," she said.
"Our philosophy is to enable all care recipients to live their life with dignity and comfort whilst encouraging them to pursue their own concept of a happy, rich and fulfilling life. We also encourage family support and interaction."
If you're considering residential aged care for your loved one and would like to arrange a tour of Griffiths Point Lodge, please contact Nurse Unit Manager Clare Stinton on 5678 5311.
