The doors to the Newhaven Medical Clinic - located just off the Phillip Island bridge – have recently opened.

Looking to help fill the gap and provide a new medical service to Phillip Island, business manager Cameron Pepper said the Newhaven Clinic will share doctors, resources, and staff with Wonthaggi to service the high growth area.

“For people already coming to Wonthaggi Medical Group, this new clinic will ease the travel pressure with a centre in closer proximity to home,” said Cameron.

“Over time we hope to attract more doctors with our brand-new service and brand-new facility, but with a lack of general practitioners across the board we are working with our regular GPs to share their time and service on Phillip Island.

“It’s a changing world in the world of general practitioners, doctors are getting hard to find, but we’re bucking that trend – we have a lot of doctors on our books that regularly work with us.”

Wonthaggi Medical Group will coordinate the specialists available in the Newhaven Clinic based on what care is required in the area. The space is now available, and bookings for specialists will open as interest rises.

Doctors include Dr Mark Andrighetto, Dr Sky Lim, Dr Lucy Candy-Watson, Dr John Foo, Dr Callum Toole and Dr Brandon Khoo.

This group represents some of Wonthaggi Medical Group’s best young doctors, with Dr Andrighetto the practice clinical leader.

They will rotate between Newhaven and Wonthaggi primarily.

There is a focus on skin clinic work at Newhaven in the purpose-built procedure room.
