Help rescue a dog or cat

The Victorian Dog Rescue (VDR) is calling for foster carers this winter.

The organisation says it is offered so many surrenders and have so many requests for pounds and shelters that it cannot meet the demand.

“We often cannot take them, as we do not have foster carers,” VDR said.

“We are desperate for more foster carers, especially to tide us over the winter season.

“Nearly all dogs and cats who are in pounds have ended up there through no fault of their own.

“Their family might not be able to keep them any longer due to changed circumstances, they may have been lost and not located by their owner, or simply not wanted.

“Can you help a dog or cat that needs a second chance?”
