Historical society wins temporary funding

The Phillip Island and District Historical Society will be given temporary support to pay for artifact storage, following changes to the final 2026/27 Bass Coast Shire budget.

Historical society wins temporary funding
The extensive collection of historical artefacts held by the Phillip Island Historical Society was housed for decades in the Cowes Heritage Centre, and when it was demolished the collection was placed in storage. When storage space in Berninneit was not made available, the Society was forced to move their collection into private storage.
