Honouring the veteran community in Bass
Jordan Crugnale said the Bass Valley Friends of the RSL will receive $15,000, and the Inverloch RSL would receive $25,900.
The Bass and Inverloch communities are benefiting from a significant investment from the state government in projects that support and honour veterans and their families.
Member for Bass, Jordan Crugnale said the Bass Valley Friends of the RSL will receive $15,000, while the Inverloch RSL would receive $25,900.
The two grants were part of an announcement of more than $1.4 million for 55 projects across Victoria offering practical support for the veteran community, as well as commemorating their incredible contributions.
Inverloch RSL’s grant came from the Veterans Capital Works program, while the Bass grant was through the Restoring Community War Memorials and Avenues of Honour Grant Program.
The Inverloch RSL sub-branch which received $25,900 is intending to increase the sustainability of the premises by adding a solar battery to the already installed solar panels. The money saved with cheaper energy bills will be re directed to veterans’ projects.
“This funding will help ensure we continue to honour the service and sacrifice of the veteran community. I commend Inverloch RSL and Bass Valley Friends of the RSL for their important work,” Ms Crugnale said.
