- Bass Coast Shire planners say there will be community consultation on the planning scheme review this year. Planners say it will be an internal review with consultation with “key users of the scheme” only. Nevertheless, if you have strong feelings on planning issues, email the planners (and cc the councillors), outlining your concerns and ask for them to be included in the review.
- Contact Island Voice (islandvoice@islandprogress.com.au) who say they “will continue to fight to improve planning and protect our island environment”.
- The long-awaited final round of community consultation on the state government’s Distinctive Area and Landscapes project is expected in early 2022. This will be a most important document, a draft Statement of Planning Policy (SPP), which will eventually be enshrined in law. The SPP aims to protect our best features and lock in town boundaries.
