Hurray – Heidi is finally home

Heidi, the nine-year-old Rottweiler that went missing from Cowes around 8pm on New Year’s Eve has finally been found and reunited with her family.

Local farmer Peter List spotted the dog on his property near Pyramid Rock last week and contacted owner Matthew Scavo straight away.

With the help of Peter’s drone and quad bikes they were able to quickly locate her and get her to safety.

Matthew posted the news on Facebook and thanked everyone in the community for their ongoing support.

“Remarkably Heidi is ok after spending 31 days in paddocks/bush land of Phillip Island,” said Matthew.

“She is very tired, underweight and has some grass seeds lodged in her paws that need to be surgically removed.

“I’ll keep everyone updated in the coming days as to how her recovery is travelling.”
