Island girls blitz it at Junior titles

Congratulations to Phillip Island's Scarlett Rennie who took out first place in the Under 16 girls category at the Victorian Junior Surfing Titles on the Surf Coast on the weekend.

Congratulations to Phillip Island's Scarlett Rennie who took out first place in the Under 16 girls category at the Victorian Junior Surfing Titles on the Surf Coast on the weekend.

Her fellow Phillip Island Boardriders Club member, Sandy Point's Lillian Bassed took out the number two spot in the Under 18 girls.

More than 60 competitors took part in the round 1, including a contingent of Bass Coast and island surfers.

Eddie Maier and Lennox Archibald made it through to the semi final of the Under 14 boys.

Dusty Rayner and Angus Kennedy also made it to the semis in the Under 16 boys, while Arch Rayner made it to the semi final of the Under 18 boys.

In a post on social media, Phillip Island Boardriders Club congratulated Scarlett and Lilly: "both girls have been training hard all summer and it was great to see that work pay off".

Round 2 of the Victorian Junior Titles is at Gunnamatta on March 14 and 15.
Phillip Island will host the final round on May 9 and 10.
