Local surfers Abbey Clarke and Jarvis Cininas have been chosen to represent Victoria at the Australian Shortboard Titles in Wollongong from August 23-29.
Abbey will surf in the Under 21 women’s division while Jarvis is in the Masters Men (over 30).
Surfing Victoria officially unveiled the state team, saying it brought together “a powerhouse squad of emerging talent, open contenders, and experienced legends”.
“The team aims to secure national glory across multiple age and performance divisions,” they said.
“Victorian team brings a strong depth of talent across junior, open, and master divisions as they prepare to take on the nation's best surfers on the national stage.”
The 2026 sees the introduction of the Under 21 division, which bridges the gap between junior ranks and elite open-level competition on the national stage.
“The Australian Shortboard Titles represent the pinnacle of national shortboard competition, serving as a primary qualifier for international representation,” said Surfing Victoria.
“In addition to competing for coveted national individual titles, victorious surfers in the masters divisions earn ISA qualification to earn a spot on the Australian National Surfing Team, The Irukandjis.”
