Island wastewater testing detects Covid
In the seven days until July 17, no fragments were detected in the samples from the wastewater treatment plant.
Viral fragments have been detected in the wastewater on Phillip Island.
The announcement came at today's state government press conference, from Covid Commander Jeroen Weimar.
In the seven days up until July 17, no fragments had been detected in the samples taken at the wastewater treatment plant.
Because of the detection, capacity at the Cowes Drive Through testing site will be maintained at the current level, with residents urged to get tested.
Bass Coast CEO Jan Child said they would ramp up the Cowes service if needed and confirmed the Walk-in site in Thompson Avenue will run for the rest of the week.
“Please, if you have even the mildest of symptoms, come forward and be tested.”
The San Remo site is running as normal today (Tuesday), with updated opening times for the rest of the week to be announced shortly.
