The Dog Owners Association held a Clean Up Australia Day event at the off-leash beaches recently.

Keep it clean on off-leash beaches
Greg Price and Catherine Gregson got a helping hand from Karma, as they helped the Dog Association members clean up at Ventnor’s off leash dog beach.

The Phillip Island Bass Coast Dog Owners Association held a Clean Up Australia event at the off-leash beaches at Ventnor and Cape Woolamai.

Displaying an array of cans, bottles and other rubbish, “as you can see, all of the rubbish is left by humans”, an association spokesperson said.

“People walk down the tracks and throw their beer bottles into the trees.”

The spokesperson said the only walkway that didn’t have rubbish along it was one that had a bin at the entrance, urging Bass Coast Shire Council to take note.
