Kids helping migrants
Bass Coast College campus recently held a fundraiser to support the Refugee Migrant Children Centre.
Bass Coast College San Remo campus recently held a winter themed fundraiser to support the Refugee Migrant Children Centre.
Students came dressed in their winter woollies and enjoyed hot chocolate with marshmallows and donuts.
Refugee Migrant Children Centre (RMCC) volunteers explained how their programs help refugee children build their confidence to be successful at school.
The concept for the student led fundraiser came while five year 9 students were attending the School for Student Leadership, a Victorian Department of Education initiative offering a term long residential education experience for year 9 students.
The curriculum focusses on personal development and community learning projects.
The team raised $490 which will be used to fund learning programs at RMCC. Details: rmccaustralia.org.au/
