Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you'll make.

Whether your little one is yet to start kinder or is currently enrolled elsewhere, it's never too late to explore your options.

We invite you to visit Cowes Primary School and see firsthand how we support our students to thrive in every aspect of their education.

At Cowes Primary School, we strive to support every child in reaching their full potential.

Our teachers and education support staff go above and beyond to ensure that each student receives the attention they need, both academically and in their overall wellbeing.

We work hard to build the knowledge and skills of our staff because we know it has a positive influence on the outcomes of our students.

Opportunities beyond the classroom

Being a larger school isn't something to worry about, it's something to celebrate.

It means we have plenty of space, plenty of resources, and plenty of opportunities for our students to thrive.

Our size allows us to offer a diverse specialist subject program, taught by highly skilled and passionate teachers, providing exciting learning well beyond literacy and numeracy, whether it's music, art, science, physical education, or Japanese language.

The yard can be an exciting place but for students who prefer something different during break times, our popular Lunch Clubs offer a variety of engaging activities indoors, another way we ensure every child feels included, connected, and happy at school.

Supporting the whole child: wellbeing at Cowes PS

It's not just academic achievement that sets Cowes Primary School apart. Our dedicated and caring staff are the heart of our school, working tirelessly to provide care and support to all students.

We believe the wellbeing of our students is just as important as their academic success, and our team is committed to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where everyone feels safe, supported, and respected.

We are proud to be part of the Mental Health in Primary Schools (MHiPS) initiative and our resourcing of an Access and Inclusion Coordinator.

Building numeracy confidence

Cowes Primary School is excited about the progress being made in numeracy, with a strong focus on developing students' fact fluency and building confident, capable mathematicians.

The school has worked hard to strengthen its approach to numeracy fact fluency, increasing opportunities for students to practise and consolidate essential skills both at school and at home.

In 2026, we introduced a fun home learning challenge to encourage students to keep practising and celebrating their progress.

The response from our students and families has been phenomenal. Students have embraced the challenge with enthusiasm, and those who reach 100 nights of reading and numeracy practice are invited to a special Principal's Lunch to celebrate their achievements.
