Lions acknowledge "one in a million"
At the Lions Club of Phillip Island meeting on Sunday April 19, the District Governor Geoff Anderson and his wife Rosemary visited - watched operations in Steptoe's, and stayed on for lunch and the meeting.
At the Lions Club of Phillip Island meeting on Sunday April 19, the District Governor Geoff Anderson and his wife Rosemary visited - watched operations in Steptoe's, and stayed on for lunch and the meeting.
After addressing the meeting, Geoff presented an award to club member Madeleine Pitt.
He acknowledged the work that goes on behind the scenes at the club, and praised Madeleine's work as club secretary, on grant applications and her brilliant catering for meetings.
"You're one in a million," he said.
Madeleine was presented with a Lions brooch plus an award for attracting new members.
Come and visit Steptoe's, the trash and treasure yard in Dunsmore Road in Cowes next door to the Council recycling centre.
It's open Saturday and Sunday mornings until 12 noon.
