A group of members represented the Lions Club of Phillip Island at a recent donor afternoon tea provided by Bayside Health to thank local community groups for their donations.
Sue Denny, Meryl Reid, club secretary Madeleine Pitt and Ian Riley enjoyed meeting other community volunteers at the event.
CEO Louise Sparks of Bayside Health Regional Care Group gave a background talk explaining recent developments, future projects, and thanked everyone for their support.
Over six years, the Lions Club of Phillip Island has donated approximately $50,000 to Bayside Health.
"If you visit the Phillip Island Community Hospital, you may see patient floor mats (two), medicine trolleys on wheels (three), dialysis chairs (two) and recovery chairs (two) all purchased by donations from the Lions," explained Madeleine.
The club has a term deposit account dedicated to supporting the Community Hospital.
To help with their ongoing fundraising, visit Steptoe's Yard in Dunsmore Road, Cowes any weekend morning, to watch the volunteers in action working for the community.
