Reported Covid case numbers have halved in the past fortnight, with local cases now under 50.
The warmer weather and more outdoor activity, as well as high vaccination rates are contributing to the decline in infections.
However authorities warn the pandemic is far from over.
The Department of Health continues to report Covid deaths, with over 4000 Covid-related deaths in Victoria so far this year, and over 5000 since the pandemic began.
Everyone is urged to ensure they receive their Covid booster if eligible, continue to socially distance or to wear a mask when social distancing is not possible. Mask must still be worn on public transport.
If you are gathering indoors, either socially or for work, the department said ensuring adequate ventilation is important to reduce the spread.
Adding fresh air into a space reduces the risk of COVID-19 transmission from one person to another.
The Department has updated information on ventilation available on its website. www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/ventilation
If you are diagnosed with Covid, the department has developed a new online tool to help determine if you are eligible for COVID-19 medicines. https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/find-out-if-you-are-eligible-covid-19-medicine
The website also includes information on how to report the results of your RAT, where to book a Covid vaccination, reducing the risks and stopping the spread and managing Covid at home.
