Nobbies Centre closed this weekend

Phillip Island Nature Parks has closed the Nobbies Centre this weekend, due to concerns about the building.

Nature Parks CEO, Catherine Basterfield said the centre had been "temporarily closed as a precaution following an infrastructure issue at the building this morning".

"The issue occurred on the part of the building nearest to the visitor car park and boardwalk entrance and will require rectification works.

"The building, car park and boardwalks have been closed for the weekend, while the Nature Parks awaits an engineer’s inspection early next week," Ms Basterfield said.

Over the weekend, the Penguin Parade Visitors Centre will open early, from midday, to accommodate any visitors requiring facilities on the Summerland Peninsula, including food, drink and retail options.

Public toilets are also available at the Penguin Parade Visitor Centre carpark.

Churchill Island

The Nature Parks also advised there may be delays arriving and leaving Churchill Island due to predicted storm surges, between now and Monday (June 2). All drivers are asked to follow instructions from staff and observe the traffic lights on site.
