100 days of Berninneit

This past weekend, we reached one of many milestones at Berninneit, Cowes - 100 days of performances, cinema, art exhibitions and community space. This has included our community enjoying the library and inviting places within the beautiful Passivhaus designed building.

We have been thrilled to hear of the support from residents, artists, producers, media as well as visitors. It is so rewarding to know Berninneit will be a hub of creativity and learning for many generations.

I'd like to thank everyone again who has been involved in making this project come to life. The tremendous success in such a short time of 100 days has meant so much for our community, our staff as well as all the artists and producers who have come through the doors. The numbers tell the story - and after so many sold-out shows, I'd encourage everyone to connect with us and make sure you book early so you're not disappointed to miss out on any future shows. International Women's Day

On Friday, March 8 we are looking forward to hosting our annual International Women's Day event in partnership with Phillip Island Nature Parks, Bass Coast Health and Westernport Water. You are invited to join us for this event featuring Olympian and former head of AFLW, Nicole Livingstone OAM as well as a panel of women in local sport.

I welcome any opportunity to include and empower all communities in Bass Coast. It is important to me that we increase representation of women at all levels of sport particularly when noting the physical and mental health benefits of community sport. Team sport in particular fosters a sense of belonging and friendship which is so important in the fast-paced world we live in.

I am looking forward to listening to Nicole Livingstone and our panel as well as meeting members of our community and enjoying a lunch at one of our fantastic local venues. You can find the event at: internationalwomensday2024.eventbrite.com.au

Or please contact our Customer Service team for more information. Everyone is welcome.

What's happening in Bass Coast?

There are always so many events and activities happening in our community and at Council. If you are online, I'd encourage you to connect with us through our social media pages and our Engage Bass Coast website. This way, you can stay up to date with infrastructure projects, upcoming community engagements, community group and business training opportunities and events.

We also strongly encourage you to download both the VicEmergency and BeachSafety apps. These are a great source of up-to-date information to keep you safe and informed.
