Westernport Water taps into Melbourne's water supply system this summer to avoid drought measures.

Melbourne is saving us from drought
The water volume in Candowie Reservoir by the end of 2024 was at the level at which drought response measures would be considered. Water levels are now being propped up by Melbourne's Greater Yarra Thomson River System. There are no plans to implement water restrictions, despite growing concerns from a former Westernport Water board member.
