Midweek bowls results

With temperature predictions saying Corinella was looking at a 28-degree day, 30 of our family of bowlers turned up for our weekly challenge.

The day started off well with everyone having fun and, as usual, quite a bit of laughter and friendly banter.

As the day went on the temperature rose a little above the predicted maximum reaching around 35-degrees, this cut the second game down from 12 to 10 ends, however did not stop our bowlers.

Phil let us all know how Sue was following her fall.

We wish her well with her recovery over the next few months.

Jan, Bill and Allan all dropped in to have a look at the game and say hello.

Winners on 36 points were: Peter Gratton (S), Laurie Bell (3), Phil Wright (2) and Shirley Corcoran (L).

Runners up on 33 points were: John Nicholson (S), Luke Monckton (3) and Ruth Waring (L).

Best One Game on 23 points were: Mark Andreatta (S), Ken Barnes (3), Pauline McWilliams (2) and Cheryl Floyd (L).

A big thank you to Terry for setting up the green as well as looking after the bar and also to Cheryl for looking after the kitchen and clearing up when we were all leaving.

Next week we will be at San Remo and we look forward to another great day with all our friends.

Hopefully a couple of degrees cooler than last week.
