Midweek bowls results
Midweek bowls winners were Peter Gratton, Bob Arnold and Peter Thorley.
Southwest Gippsland Midweek bowls winners were Peter Gratton, Bob Arnold and Peter Thorley.
Runners up were Vern Elliott, Laurie Bell and Tony Morris.
One Game winners were Peter McWilliams/ Lindsay Russell (co Skips), David Talbot, Bill Williams and Mary Nicholson.
Midweek bowls was played at San Remo in near perfect conditions.
Although the green was lightning fast it was in beautiful condition even though there were some very wayward bowls to start with until we became used to the speed of the green.
As usual good-hearted banter could be heard across the rinks and a few comments about the wayward bowls.
The music playing put everyone in a great mood especially our resident dancing queen Gwen Jeffery who entertained us with the twist.
Our wrong bias king Jim Nunan did not have any this week but went to Tarwin Lower instead of San Remo to play bowls, sadly he was the only one there.
Thank you to Peter Thorley and Michael Geddes for tending the bar always with a smile and Gwen Jeffery for kitchen duty.
Thank you to the members who brought items for the free raffle, we have some lovely treasures.
All in all, it was one of the best days I can remember.
Next week we will be playing at Koo Wee Rup, 10am at the club for a 10.30am start and BYO lunch.
