Championship Racing for Round 3 of the Victorian State Race Series will be held on May 27/28.
Championship Racing at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit for Round 3 of the Victorian State Race Series 2023 will be held on the last weekend in May (May 27 and 28)
Featuring 10 categories promoted by PIARC (Phillip Island Auto Racing Club) this round will be true to the club’s motto of “access to motorsport” at Australia’s most picturesque circuit, attracting up to 250 entries.
The Improved Production Cars which include BMW E30s are looking to have over 40 entries of the total of 50 allowable.
Formula Ford and Formula Ford 1600 are headed for 30 entries with a combined 22 to date and Formula Vee already sitting on 20.
New to the Event is the Toyota 86 Scholarship Series with 26 on board already this year replacing the resting Sports Car Category.
Sports Sedans, Saloons, Circuit Excels, HQs, Porsche 944s make the balance of entries.
Action aplenty is assured from 9am to 5pm daily, with family-friendly admission via EventBrite online. It’s great value, with adult weekend passes a mere $40, Sunday only $35, Saturday $30 and kids under 16 admitted free all weekend.
This meeting is the second of four race meetings being promoted by PIARC (Phillip Island Auto Racing Club) for 2023, and one of five for the year with Club involvement, all with the added importance of helping the Island’s great history as a racing Mecca.
PIARC spokesman Geoff Bull says the club is hoping for 250 plus entries in total for this fantastic series which continues to get better by the year with great racing assured.
This event is Round 3 of five for Motorsport Australia Victorian State Circuit Racing Championships 2023 and is being conducted at both Phillip Island and Sandown throughout the year, with a round last month at the Winton circuit near Benalla.
