New mental health website for Gippsland
Lifeline Gippsland has develop a new website to help you find exactly what you need quickly and easily.
Have you ever experienced suicidal thoughts or lost someone to suicide? Do you have a family member or friend who has? Have you ever tried to find help for mental health issues online but not known where to start?
Lifeline Gippsland has partnered with people with lived experience of suicide to develop a new website to help you find exactly what you need quickly and easily.
The new Gippsland Mental Health – Support Directory is a one-stop shop aimed at improving people’s awareness of and access to suicide prevention and mental health information, resources, and services.
Lifeline Gippsland CEO Michelle Possingham said: “There are many organisations available to people impacted by suicide or mental ill-health and a lot of resources and services available to assist them. However, what we heard from the Gippsland community was that it can be difficult to find that information when they need help, either for themselves or someone else”.
“There is help out there for people who are struggling,” Ms Possingham said.
“It’s important that we reach out for support when we need it and reach out to others who may need support. This website will help people to find information about organisations and resources that are reputable, reliable, accurate and up-to-date”.
The new webpage was created in close consultation with people with lived experience of mental ill-health, the broader Gippsland community with an interest in suicide prevention or mental health, and local service providers. The project was funded by the Gippsland Primary Health Network.
