New Principal commissioned at Our Lady Star of the Sea

The Commissioning Mass of new Principal Pamela McKillop at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School, held in partnership with St Mary's Parish and led by Fr Siju Xavier, formally welcomed Mrs McKillop into her leadership role.

The Mass also highlighted the strong bond between parish and school.
Following Communion, Mrs McKillop thanked the community for its warm welcome and expressed her commitment to serving with faith, compassion, and integrity.

Reflecting on the school's name, she spoke of Mary as "Star of the Sea," a guiding light, and her hope the school would continue to nurture a strong sense of belonging and purpose for every child.

She acknowledged the support of parish leadership, staff, and families, and encouraged students to grow in faith, courage, and confidence.

After Mass the congregation gathered at the school for morning tea, followed by an Open Day for the wider community.

Performances by the student choir and drumming circle added to the celebrations, making it a joyful day of connection and community spirit.
