The Rotary Club of Phillip Island and San Remo held their annual Changeover Dinner at the Newhaven Yacht squadron earlier this month.
The club farewelled outgoing President, Peter Buitenhuis and welcome incoming President, Rob Robertson.
The induction of the new President was performed by District Governor, Linda Humphries, who was visiting Phillip Island from the Rotary Club of Mount Eliza.
The new president's previous role in the club was head of the Membership Committee which achieved an enviable result during the 2022-2023 year with the addition of thirteen new members.
Rob takes over the role with a personal aim to increase the diversity within the club, whilst continuing community involvement.
Rob brings with him a vast experience in leadership after working in the Arts for 13 years with Victoria State Opera. He was also General Manager of Marriner Theatres as well as Managing Director of Orchestra Victoria.
Rob and his wife, Sue Hunt were only too pleased to host visiting Rotarians from up-state New York recently, taking their guests for a walk around the Ventnor Common, where the local wallabies posed for photos.
"I am thrilled and delighted to have the opportunity to lead this dynamic and exciting club, and know I will enjoy the year immensely,” said Rob.
Rob's Board members include the President Elect, Gea Lovell, who takes over from Rob in 2024.
