Newhaven College celebrated Mother's Day in many ways last week.

Celebrations started with the Mother's Day stall run by the Parents and Friends Association, where students purchased lovely gifts for their mums, grandmothers and other special people in their lives.

The Mother's Day Raffle, also run by the PFA, was won by two students, for their mums, Year 4 student Olivia Clark and Year 7 student Lucy Thompson. The prizes included lots of lovely goodies and $50 vouchers generously donated by Saltwater Restaurant in Newhaven.

On Friday morning, Junior School students welcomed their mums and special people with a hot coffee and muffin before inviting them into their classroom to create some lovely artworks. This event coincided with a College charity fundraiser for the Cancer Council, with students across the College wearing pyjamas to school. This made for a relaxed and fun environment for the Muffins and Mums event.

The Newhaven College inaugural Mother's Day lunch at Phillip Island Winery was a highlight of the week, with over 90 guests in attendance. Principal Tony Corr welcomed the guests, followed by stunning entertainment from singers Year 11 student Cecily de Gooyer and Year 10 student Aifoe O'Connell, supported by piano teacher Pam Christie.

The College thanks Phillip Island Winery, the PFA and everyone involved in making this such a special Mother's Day celebration.
