Current Year 12 students Michaela Marr and Tilly Stecher, along with Newhaven College 2024 graduate Tom Bird, were recognised for their outstanding achievement in completing the Gold level of The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award at a reception at Government House, Melbourne, on June 4.
The ceremony brought together young achievers and their supporters at Government House, which was a fitting setting to mark one of the most highly regarded youth achievement awards in the world.
Representing Newhaven College were Duke of Edinburgh's Awards Coordinator Ann-Marie McLean and Head of Senior School, Brett Torstonson.
The Gold Award - the highest level of the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award program - requires young people to demonstrate commitment across a range of challenging activities, including volunteering, physical endeavour, skill development and an adventurous journey.
Achieving the Gold standard is a testament to the dedication, resilience and character of each recipient.
