Anzac respect at San Remo
1 min read

Poppies are traditionally a symbol of Remembrance Day, but there will be plenty of them available on Anzac Day in San Remo for those who wish to lay them on the Cenotaph.

A commemoration starting at 10.45am at the Cenotaph is being organised by a small community group under the auspices of the Vietnam Veterans Museum Sub Branch.

If the weather is foul, Nick Say has offered use of the Westernport Hotel.

Vietnam veteran John Methven will MC the event which will hear a youth perspective of the importance of Anzac Day from two local students; one from Bass Coast College, the other from Newhaven College.

Anyone wanting to lay a wreath or flowers will have the chance to do so. Everyone is welcome.

It is a town tradition for one of the hotels to host morning tea after the service. This time, it's the Westernport's turn.

The Cenotaph is on the foreshore opposite IGA.
