Users of the Cowes/Inverloch V/Line service are being urged to take part in consultation about future bus services to Melbourne.
The State Government is asking for feedback to help shape plans for bus services between Yarram and Melbourne CBD to improve access to healthcare, education, events, employment and social activities.
Consultation is now open for the community on the V/Line coach services between Yarram, Leongatha, Koo Wee Rup and Melbourne.
There are no plans to remove the express services to and from Southern Cross Station.
"I encourage everyone travelling on the Cowes/Inverloch V/Line service inbound and outbound to also contribute so we can collate the evidence on how our community travel, where they want to go and why," said Member for Bass, Jordan Crugnale.
"Our interchange is Koo Wee Rup and we know so many jump on the Southern Cross service opting to travel direct to the city. This will certainly go towards substantiating the need for an uplift for these two services, timetable adjustments to suit modern times and show explicitly the demand we can put forward for future budget considerations."
Feedback
Community feedback will help shape a better understanding of how and when passengers use these coach services, their experience of the local bus network and how it impacts travel choices.
"I am very passionate about buses better servicing our community, and thank everyone that has written to me over the last few years with their experiences, story, ideas, timetable and tweaks to improve," Ms Crugnale said.
"For example connectivity with local services, school and work start and finish times, as too the issues around limited seat capacity and accessibility.
"Our V/Line is a great service that can be so much better, and I look forward to our community sharing the survey with their friends and networks, participating in the survey and dropping many pins and comments onto the map section of the survey."
