Leaving their legacy
1 min read

Two members of the Phillip Island San Remo Legacy Widows’ Club have been selected to take part in the Sale leg of the Legacy Centenary Torch Relay currently traversing the country.

Dianne Holtrop of Cowes and Maureen Matthews of San Remo - treasurer and secretary of the club - will take part in the Sale leg of the relay on September 28 and have been given special relay uniforms.

The torch was lit in Pozieres France, just before Anzac Day and came to Australia via London where it was presented to King Charles. It will eventually end up at Melbourne’s Shrine of Remembrance.

The Phillip Island and San Remo club has just celebrated its 37th birthday and South Gippsland Legacy is marking the centenary of the wider Legacy movement at an event in Korumburra on September 10.
