Lopping the locks. Kade Wiggins chopped off his hair to support his mate Sam Docherty and raise money for the Peter Mac Foundation. Wielding the scissors is Tash Chandler from Bounty Hair.

After the big snip, Tash took to the shears to complete the head shave. A crowd of family and friends gathered at the Westernport to cheer on Kade and the fundraiser.

The money Kade has raised for the Peter Mac Foundation is adding to the $186,000 that has been raised through the Sam Docherty fundraiser.
On Sunday, cheered on by friends and family, Cape Woolamai’s Kade Wiggins shaved his head to raise money for the Peter Mac Foundation.
The fundraiser was in support of his friend Sam Docherty, who is undergoing chemotherapy after a secondary testicular cancer occurrence.
Thanking all those who joined him at the Westernport Hotel, Kade encouraged everyone to dig deep for this worthy cause.
“What I’ve done today is nothing compared to what those with cancer go through every day.”
The final fundraising tally for Kade’s big shave included $1804 in cash on the day, with around $800 donated online - a total of around $2600.
The fundraiser is part of a bigger campaign, organised by Sam’s AFL teammate and Carlton co-captain Patrick Cripps.
Cripps set up the fundraiser, with Carlton players shaving their heads, hoping to raise $50,000, but that target was quickly smashed.
To date, the fundraiser for Sam Docherty has raised over $186,000. You can still donate at fundraise.petermac.org.au/samdocherty
