Tourism is at the heart of life in Bass Coast - supporting local jobs, energising our towns, and inviting the world to experience our breathtaking natural environment and warm hospitality.

Right now, we're seeing exciting developments that will shape our visitor economy for years to come.

In Cowes, the transformation of the Isle of Wight site will soon deliver a stunning new hospitality and accommodation offering. This iconic location will once again be a focal point for visitors and locals, supported by the Cowes Streetscapes project, which received $8 million in federal funding last year. These investments link the main street to our beautiful coastline, creating a more accessible, welcoming and vibrant Cowes.

Our wellness tourism sector is also growing, with anticipation building for the opening of Phillip Island Hot Springs. Once complete, this destination will offer visitors a world-class place to unwind, boosting off-peak visitation and adding to the region's unique appeal.

We remain focused on growing off-peak and shoulder season visitation through vibrant events and partnerships. Our collaboration with Surfing Victoria and Rip Curl is a great example of how we're activating the coast year-round. Planning is well underway for the Cowes Entertainment Precinct as part of this year's MotoGP, and we're proud to support much-loved local events such as the Inverloch

Equinox Festival and the Kilcunda Lobster Festival, delivered in partnership with our passionate community groups.

And speaking of Kilcunda - we have even more reason to celebrate. This beloved coastal gem has been named a finalist in the 2025 Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards in the Tiny Town category.

Now we need your help to bring home the win. Community support plays a big part in the final result - so please take a moment to vote and show your love for Kilcunda. Voting closes soon and every vote counts.

Bass Coast is a region on the rise, with bold ideas, strong partnerships and a shared commitment to delivering exceptional visitor experiences. With your continued support, we'll keep growing - sustainably, inclusively, and proudly.

Let's keep working together to showcase what makes Bass Coast truly special.
