Mayor's Message

Every four years, Council refreshes the strategic plans that guide our work and shape the future of our community. These plans are built on your voices and reflect what matters most to the people who live, work, visit and invest in Bass Coast.

Several key draft documents will soon be open for community feedback, pending Council endorsement at our August meeting. I encourage everyone to visit

Engage Bass Coast to get to know each project and get ready to share your thoughts.

The Community Vision captures what our community values most and outlines a shared hope for the future we're working towards together.

Our Council Plan is our blueprint for action over the next four years. It keeps us focused on what matters to the community and helps us track progress in a meaningful way.

This plan has been shaped by thoughtful conversations with the community, including the incredible work of our Community Panel - a randomly selected but all passionate group of residents who came together to share ideas and help shape both the Vision and Council Plan.

The Long Term Financial Plan supports responsible, sustainable decision-making - so we can continue delivering the major projects and essential services our community needs, while planning wisely for future generations.

The Asset Plan ensures that the roads we drive on, the parks we play in, the buildings we use and rely on are looked after and continue to meet the needs of our community as we grow.

The Domestic Animal Management Plan is about how we balance living in such a unique and beautiful environment with supporting pet owners to enjoy life with their animals. Pets play a special role in our lives.

They bring companionship, keep us active, and offer comfort and connection - especially during life's more challenging times. In Bass Coast, it's clear how much people love and value their animals.

Our Healthy Communities Plan 2025-29 is also well underway and will soon be ready for your input. This plan reflects Council's strong and ongoing commitment to improving quality of life for everyone in Bass Coast - across all ages and stages - by supporting vulnerable groups and building a healthier, more connected community.

As Mayor, I'm proud to work alongside passionate councillors who advocate strongly for their wards and for Bass Coast as a whole. We are united in our commitment to representing your voice and delivering outcomes that support our growing, diverse and vibrant community.

All these plans were shaped by a first round of community engagement. They don't belong to Council - they belong to you. Your feedback will help make sure they are relevant, responsive, and truly reflect the priorities of our people.
