The 2025-26 Community Support program opens

Westernport Water is inviting applications for its 2025-26 Community Support Program, offering sponsorship funding and in-kind support for local events, initiatives and projects that align with the themes of healthy people, healthy communities, and a healthy planet.

With $35,000 available in funding, the program supports not-for-profit organisations, community groups, sporting clubs, schools, kinders and committees of management across Westernport Water's service area.

"The Community Support Program is part of Westernport Water's ongoing commitment to supporting a thriving, resilient and connected community," said Dona Tantirimudalige, Managing Director of Westernport Water.

"Now in its sixth year, we're proud that the program continues to support local organisations working to improve the wellbeing of people and the environment."

"If your group is running a project, program or event with a sustainability focus, whether it's promoting tap water, conserving water or reducing single-use plastic bottles, I encourage you to apply."

Applications are now open and close Wednesday June 16, with successful applicants to be notified by July 18. A cheque presentation event is scheduled for July 30.

Projects must be based within Westernport Water's service area and be run by registered not-for-profit organisations. Events must be free from single-use plastic water bottles.

There are five sponsorship packages available:

  • Water refill stations (up to $7000)
  • Small water efficiency projects (up to $5000)
  • Schools (up to $3000 for water-focused education or projects)
  • Sports hydration (up to $500 for hydration kits or water coolers)
  • Event package ($500 cash plus hydration support and promotional materials).
