Phillip Island Nature Parks has advised there will be interruptions to access to the Penguin Parade car park, boardwalks, and Summerland Beach on Thursday this week (June 19) between 7am and 4pm due to planned works on the boardwalk redevelopment.

"A helicopter will be operating in the area during this period to lift materials into place with all works overseen by qualified wildlife officers and guided by sensitive methodology to ensure the surrounding wildlife and habitat is protected," a Nature Parks spokesperson said.

The Penguin Parade Visitor Centre will open at 4pm and there is no impact on the nightly Penguin Parade.
