It has been a tough year for children, with the pandemic forcing the cancellation of many sporting activities.

However, with Covid restrictions easing and the weather getting warmer, Woolamai Beach Surf Life Saving Club has announced they are running a Nippers program for season 2020/21.

Hugely popular, the Nippers Program teaches children aged 6-13 years surf education, lifesaving skills, and fitness.

This season, sessions will run at both Cleeland Bight Beach and Smiths Beach on Tuesday, December 29 to Tuesday, January 5, with a break on New Year’s Day.

“The program will look a little different this year” says Charles Tuchtan, club Director of Junior Development.

“It’ll be a modified one with reduced numbers, and Covid-Safe practices and protocols, to keep in line with requirements set by Life Saving Victoria.”

Registrations for the program open on Monday, November 30 at 7pm, and places fill fast.
