Off to state swim championships — Members of Cowes Primary School’s 9/10 year girls freestyle relay team will go on to compete at state level in the Victorian State Schools Swimming championships, after taking out first place at regional level at last week’s Schools Regional Swimming Carnival, which was held in Sale last Thursday. Team members Miranda, Mika, Macy and Kate after their great swim.

Last Thursday in the early hours of the morning 17 Cowes Primary School students loaded onto a bus with pillows and blankets and headed off to Sale to represent our district division at the School Sport Victoria Regional swimming carnival.

This event involves students competing from all over Gippsland, from as far away as Mallacoota through to Phillip Island.

The Cowes students represented our school exceptionally well, producing some amazing performances in both individual and relay events, with many students posting personal best times.

Securing a medal were the 9/10 boys freestyle relay team placing third and the 9/10 year girls freestyle relay team, who placed first.

The girls will now go on to compete at the State Championships at MSAC in Term 2.
