Twelve-year-old Olivia Curtain had the biggest win in her young career winning the 1.10m Willinga Park 4CYTE Wallaby Hill Children's Grand Prix Spectacular last weekend.
A star-studded field of 14-year-olds and under riders from around Australia gathered at the purpose built Willinga Park Equestrian Centre at Bawley Point NSW.
Willinga Park is truly like no other Equestrian Centre in Australia, built to international standards and hosting some of the biggest equine events in Australia.
This event was classified as an international, elite show jumping competition fully televised and live streamed around the world via Willinga Park TV.
Olivia and her 17-year-old mare Xcella went last out in the first round with only three other competitors going clear before her.
She had a perfect round going clear, with only the clear rounds going through to the final jump off for time over a shortened difficult course and the rails increased to 1.15m.
The pressure was intense with the commentator getting the crowd in the grandstand right behind all the riders.
Olivia was last out in the jump off and needed both speed and a clear round.
Olivia rode superbly showing all her hard work in training with perfect lines and strides to all fences having a clear round and stopping the clock 3.5 seconds quicker, taking out the championship.
Congratulation’s Olivia and Xcella who are now on to the Interschool Nationals next weekend with both her ponies over five days at Werribee Park Equestrian Centre.
