Open Doubles Tournament

Last weekend, the Phillip Island Croquet Club held its Golf Croquet Handicap Doubles Tournament at the courts in Blue Gum Reserve.

Teams from Rosebud West, Drysdale, Sale, Wonthaggi and Phillip Island competed in the two-day event.

Robert Smallwood, the tournament manager, welcomed all players and outlined the rules of the handicap tournament.

The games commenced and were fiercely contested, with nail biting finishes that provided spectators with some very exciting games. All in all, a great weekend of croquet.

The scores were tallied and the winner was the Phillip Island team of Claire Earl and Bob Weaver, with the Drysdale team of Jenny Payne and Mary Cockett, runner up.
