Garden lovers are in for a Sunday treat on October 30 with the chance to visit three delightful private gardens in Inverloch, thanks to Open Gardens Victoria.
First stop, set just 300m back from the Inverloch surf beach, Jenny and Erin’s Sophorae garden (1 Sylvia Court) was redesigned in 2012 to enhance the views from the house and to frame a century-old Banksia integrifolia. It is essentially an Australian native plant garden with formal bones – structured and clipped elements give form and contrast.
Sophorae won Open Gardens Victoria’s ‘Creative with Natives’ competition during Covid 2020.
Across the court at 4 Sylvia Court, visitors will discover an appealing small garden with creative, whimsical and quirky touches to make visitors smile. The garden has evolved over 20 years, filled with succulents, cycads, native shrubs and container plants. The established plantings in the garden provide a backdrop for an array of interesting plants and succulents in fabulous containers.

Just three minutes away garden devotees will discover 8 Jazmine Court—a beautiful quarter acre garden designed by local landscape architect Steven Cornelissen. Owner Susan Alexander’s concept from the beginning was for a native garden, without lawns, hard paving or annual flowers, with hidden fences and requiring minimal garden maintenance.
OPEN: Sunday October 30 (only) 10am - 4.30pm. Tickets – Adults $10, Students $6, under 18 free.
8 Jazmine Court - Tickets at the gate or via Trybooking. Sophorae & 4 Sylvia Court (one ticket for both gardens) – Tickets at the gate or via Trybooking.
