Oscar Tuchtan umpired his first official game for the seniors over Easter, when the Phillip Island Bulldogs took on Kilcunda Bass.

He admitted he was feeling both a little nervous and excited before the game started.

Oscar completed his umpiring course online during lockdown then joined the South Gippsland Umpire Association. Since February this year his parents have been driving him to Leongatha each week for umpire training.

Oscar plays for Phillip Island in the Under 12s team, loves his footy and says his favourite player for Phillip Island is Cameron Pederson who is also his Year 5 classroom teacher at Newhaven College.
