If you’re travelling with a four-legged friend, there’s a bit to navigate.

As much of the island is a nature reserve, there are some areas where your pooch isn’t allowed at all, and most beaches have a before “10am and after 5pm” rule during summer.

Generally, dogs have to be on a lead at all times, although there are off-leash beaches in Ventnor, Cape Woolamai and Cowes West, as well as the park at Blue Gum Reserve.
