Phillip island junior tennis
First season in Pennant and finished runners-up
This summer season the Phillip Island Tennis club fielded five teams in the Korrine and District Junior competition which commenced in October and concluded with the grand finals on Saturday.
Despite several youngsters having never played competitive tennis before, and others playing in higher sections than what they normally did, the experience greatly improved their tennis.
This was shown with these boys who played their first season in Pennant and finished runners-up.
They lost to Wonthaggi Murray in a highly competitive match.
They, like the rest of the Juniors, enjoyed the challenge of the stronger tennis throughout the season.
The P.I.T.C. wishes to thank the team managers and parent drivers who assisted throughout the season.
Their support is greatly appreciated.
Also, thanks to Sandy Lone, the Junior Co-ordinator and Coach, Paul Rowbottom for their contribution throughout the season.
If there are enough juniors interested, teams will be entered in the upcoming Winter competition, Sandy would like to hear from anyone interested.
