“Tourism trashing the island”: Each summer the council “sits back and allows Cowes central and its beaches to be trashed”, according to a former Tourism Victoria CEO. “The failure to ban township expansion for all time, and the failure to manage peak visitation … is leading to the loss of what makes Phillip Island so special.”
