PIARC hosts upcoming INEOS Grenadier August Access

The Phillip Island Auto Racing Club (PIARC) is holding its August Access closed race meeting on August 16 - 18 at the world famous Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.

The ninth running Access event, will see “racing for racings sake” with private practice (race categories) and sprints on the Friday, whilst moving into qualifying and racing on Saturday and Sunday.

This year’s event will see on-track action from the Production Sports Cars Victoria (racing across both days), Victorian Superkarts (Saturday) and a series of sprint sessions - bring your road car or track weapon for all three days.

A unique addition to the event, will be the resurrection of PIARC tradition, the “Butchers Picnic”, which will be conducted for log booked sedan based race vehicles on Sunday consisting of qualifying and three races.

Race 3 will be known as the “Bob Gill Butchers Picnic”, as recognition of Bob’s passing in April - who gave a long and committed contribution to PIARC’s events and motorsport.

Additionally, as part of the events partnership, INEOS Automotive will be on hand to demonstrate the Grenadier station wagon and recently released Quartermaster twin cab utility - a select number of people will have the opportunity to drive these “built for more” vehicles on the circuit.

INEOS has a long motorsport history through their association with Mercedes AMG Formula 1, as part of their support for local motorsport within Australia, INEOS has provided PIARC with three Grenadiers for their recovery and course car fleet.

Whilst being a closed-to-spectator event, PIARC members can enter via their membership.
