Phillip island Exhibition Space Inc (PICES) is excited to announce an upcoming exhibition in Gallery One, Meeniyan Art Gallery (MAG), 84 Whitelaw Street Meeniyan from June 28 to July 24.

As part of PICES’ ongoing commitment to delivering a diverse program of contemporary art to the Phillip Island Community, Bass Coast and beyond it was delighted to be invited to exhibit at the Meeniyan Art Gallery.

“It is an endorsement of the quality and variety of the exhibitions and artworks shown by PICES over the past four years in Cowes and builds on PICES’ aims of providing opportunities for local artists to show quality contemporary art,” said PICES spokesperson Sandra Peeters.

For this collaboration, PICES’ artists who have not previously exhibited at MAG were invited to submit an Expression of Interest to exhibit there.

The final selection of five artists was made by the Curators of MAG and PICES, Jasmin O’Neill and Warren Nichols and past Pop Up exhibitor, Dr Owen Rye.

The selected artists are Sian Adnam (pottery), Stephen Horswood (painting), Carolyne Jane (painting), Jillian Mitchell (photography) and Helen Philipp (sculpture and weaving).

“Meeniyan is a very attractive and accessible town in Gippsland and the Meeniyan Art Gallery is well recognised and renowned. It has three exhibition spaces plus a popular, attractive art and craft shop,” Sandra said.

“This is a great opportunity to support our local artists while enjoying new experiences.

“It’s well worth a visit!”
